Go Beyond Saying "Ours is not to question why, just invert and multiply!"
When a homeschooling mother stopped by the Wang Education offices, she wanted to know how she could demonstrate fraction division visually. All the texts she researched simply told her student to invert and multiply without explaining the mechanics behind the method. Her frustrated student couldn't understand why dividing two small numbers would result in a larger number.
While fraction addition, subtraction - even fraction multiplication - can be shown fairly easily, this is where all other manipulatives stop. Thus the mother's frustration.
An intense brainstorming session with Kaidy Educational Resources resulted in the development of a simple but powerful manipulative that can demonstrate all four arithmetic operations with fractions.
